Instructions

  1. Download the cross stitch pattern. You will find the download link at the bottom of this post. You can print the pattern or save it to your mobile device for easy access.
  2. Cut the fabric. Cut a piece of Aida fabric adding 2-3 inches (5-7.5cm) extra inches of fabric on all four sides of the design area. To minimize fraying, you might want to sew the edges of the fabric or bind them with masking tape.
  3. Determine the center of your fabric. To do so, simply, fold the fabric in half vertically, then in half horizontally, and mark the center stitch with a pin or needle.
  4. Place the fabric into the hoop. Loosen the screw and separate the two pieces of the hoop. Place the inner hoop on a flat surface and lay the fabric over it. Slide the outer hoop over the fabric and inner ring. Tighten the hoop to secure the fabric. Pull the edges of your fabric to tighten it.
  5. Thread your needle. Cut a piece of embroidery floss that’s about the length of your forearm and thread your needle with two strands. If you’re planning to use the loop method, cut twice as much.
  6. Begin stitching!
